Marnise Webb will become a global traveler before completing her assignment with Continental Tire.

A Mississippi College Law School alumna, Webb was selected to join Continental’s global human relations graduate program. Now training in Fort Mill, South Carolina, Marnise will travel to Germany and Portugal as she sharpens her career skills.

“The program will provide me with ample opportunities to not only network locally but also live abroad and meet new people,” Webb said. She will stay busy with projects contributing to the success of the premier tire manufacturer.

Continental is truly worldwide in its scope. Based in Germany, the company employs more than 243,000 people in 60 nations. In late May, there are more than 180 employees at Continental’s new plant two miles west of Clinton. In a few years, there will be 2,500 workers at the innovative plant in Hinds County.

Job prospects shine bright for Marnise Webb, a 2018 ±«ÓătvLaw graduate who earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Tougaloo College.

“Marnise will train with Continental all over the world,” says Continental Tire Clinton human relations manager Marco Will. “Her final placement will be in Clinton where she will take over a key role in our HR organization to achieve her career goals closer to home.”

In this program, people receive training in areas such as recruiting, employee benefits, talent management and communications.

Continental Tire’s global human relations graduate program began with its welcome week in Hanover, Germany. That’s followed by four six-month assignments in various company locations.

Marnise spent the first six months at the huge plant off I-20 in the Clinton area followed by six months in South Carolina. She will complete her final year in Germany before departing for Portugal.

A 2008 Madison Central High graduate, Marnise “Alyssia” Webb, 28, brings much to the table to Continental. She’s a member of the Magnolia Bar Association and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. Marnise remained active in the Black Law Students Association at ±«ÓătvLaw School.

Quita Bride, communications specialist at Continental’s Mississippi plant, promoted Webb’s selection during a luncheon meeting on May 22 with public relations professionals in Jackson.

From ±«ÓătvLaw Dean Patricia Bennett to the faculty and staff on the Jackson campus, people are thrilled to hear about Webb’s selection.

Students and others should consider a number of avenues leading to Continental careers, company officials say.

“There will be more opportunities to come for college students and graduates as we continue to grow,” Bride said.

Continental staffers will post information for its Global Trainee Program on its website
