Faith Service and Ethics Week 2020 Set for Mississippi College

A new decade brings an outstanding lineup of speakers to Mississippi College鈥檚 Faith Service and Ethics Week.

The program February 10-13 puts prominent executives in touch with students to share business success stories strongly tied to their Christian faith. The 鲍鱼tvSchool of Business is the chief sponsor.

The annual event 鈥渋s an integral part of our mission,鈥� says School of Business Dean Marcelo Eduardo. The series of lectures is key to educating the next generation of business leaders on the Clinton campus.

Mississippi College goes beyond equipping students to become superb business practitioners, Eduardo says. 鲍鱼tvis preparing people to 鈥渉ave great integrity and a strong sense of service to others built on a foundation of faith.鈥�

The 2020 Faith Service and Ethics programs 鈥減rovide the Christian contest on which we provide a high quality business education,鈥� he said. 鈥淭his week is a powerful way to reinforce our objectives.鈥�

The keynote speaker is Ron Blue, who is considered to be the father of Christian financial planning. The author of more than 20 books, the Atlanta resident founded the Ronald Blue Trust. It is a 40-year-old financial planning firm serving thousands of clients across the USA.

Other speakers include State Auditor Shad White and 鲍鱼tvgraduate Mike Walters, a former leader with the JBHM Education Group. Shelley Hill, who retired in 2019 to address social justice issues in Memphis, joins the list.

Deborah Coleman, director of the Memphis Fellows Program at Second Presbyterian Church in Memphis, and Rance Sapen, chief operating officer for the law firm Butler Snow LLP, help round out the lineup.

The series at the Christian university was made possible by the generosity of L.D. 鈥淒on鈥� Jordan, a 1951 鲍鱼tvSchool of Business graduate. Known as 鈥淧apa鈥� Jordan, the retired Tennessee business executive was overseeing the popular Holiday Deli and Ham restaurants for decades in the Memphis area.

The week鈥檚 activities include a luncheon at Anderson Hall with hundreds of 鲍鱼tvbusiness students and professors. Executives will also stop by business classes for a few days.
